2007 Midget State Tournament ResultsThe Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF) hosted the 2007 Midget State Tournament at the David S. Palmer Arena on March 16, 17 & 18. Midget class is 8-9-10 year olds.
There were more than 900 kids representing teams from all over the state wrestling at the meet. Several kids from the MS Kids Club competed over the weekend as well. Kyle Plue 60lbs, Dakota Hoffman 62lbs., Cody Hooper 66lbs., Kolton Taylor 68lbs., Brandon Dalton 70lbs., Hunter Rhodes 84lbs., Austin Vincent 122lbs. Coaches for the MS Kids Club are Head Coach, Luke Hooper, Assistant Coaches, Mat Corray, Joey Hoffman, Brian Hawn, Jamie Norton, Mike Stewart & Chet Crowley.
Jordan Geese competed in the 165+ weight class and placed first. He received a championship trophy and medal. Jordan was the first Mahomet Seymour Kids Club wrestler to win a championship in a State meet.
Just some PR…Jordan is a 4th grade student at Lincoln Trail Elementary in Mahomet. He is in Mrs. Lichtblau’s class.
In April he will represent the state of Illinois by wrestling with the Illinois Elite wrestling club. The Illinois Elite wrestling club is comprised of wrestlers from all over the state. He travels to Romeoville once per week for practice with his Illinois team and had remedial practice with his coach, Chet Crowley, two times a week. Chet Crowley was also recruited to be the Illinois Elite 2nd team coach. (More information about the selection process and club is available from Frank Bermudez , (815) 671-0523.)
The club will travel to Kingsport, TN on April 13th to compete in the Hertz AAU Wrestling Elementary Duals National Championship. (See email from Todd Gleason).
Just some FYI – If he placed in the top three at the Nationals meet he could be considered for Team USA and compete in the Worlds meet in Bulgaria this summer.
Several Area teams were involved in the meet.

2007 Bulldog Coliseum ResultsMay 2, 2007: The Mahomet Seymour Kids Wrestling Club competed in the 2007 Bulldog’s Coliseum on Sunday, April 29th in Wauconda, IL. This tournament is the 1st in a Series of 5 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Sanctioned Tournaments during the off-season. The event was held at the Wauconda High School in the greater North Chicago area. Points earned the this tournament and the four successive tournaments are tallied at the end of the season and “Series Awards” are given by the AAU at the “Last Chance” tournament held on June 30th in Rolling Meadows, IL.
Ten children attended and placed in the event. Noah Crowley – 4th, Kolton Taylor – 2nd, Dakota Hoffman – 3rd, Hunter Rhodes – 2nd, Josh Staske – 3rd, Lucas Morgan – 3rd, Quentin Butch – 1st, Kyle Heller 4th, Troy Hoffman 4th, Cody Hooper 4th. The next AAU point qualifier will be held Saturday, May 5th in Tolono, IL.
