Bulldog Wrestling Club

ABOUT

The Bulldog Wrestling Club began at Churchill High School in 1994 as a way to teach kids between the ages of 6 and 14 basic wrestling skills.  Beginners at any of those ages are welcome. We complete in the Maryland Youth Wrestling League. Each wrestler is assigned to one of 27 weight classes based on his or her age and weight since maturity has a big impact on performance.  An attempt is made to schedule matches with wrestlers of similar experience levels, but that is not always possible to make sure every wrestler gets a match.

 

The goal of the Bulldog Wrestling Club is to introduce wrestling to kids in a positive and fun style.  We emphasize that the kids show respect and good sportsmanship to their teammates, their opponents, all coaches and the referees. We hope all wrestlers will improve their skills, their fitness, their focus and self-discipline, make new friends and enjoy the competition.
